I have been so remiss at writing on the blog for the last little (long) while. I have been hard at work writing, editing, factchecking, and proofing new books. Numerous books are slated for publication in 2026 and 2027.
One of those books is One Goal: How Soccer Can Help Save the Planet. Illustrated by Drew Shannon and published by Groundwood Books, One Goal will be out in the world April 2026. Already it is getting some amazing attention: today I got word that the nonfiction book has been named a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection.
As Erica Mojzes, Groundwood’s rights specialist, wrote in the email to Drew and me, “JLG are a US-based subscription service that curate a ‘gold standard’ selection of titles for librarians across the country.”
In other news, One Goal is also heading to Mexico! Back in July (again, remiss), rights manager Mariana Linares informed us that Ediciones Castillo/Macmillan picked up Latin American Spanish rights!
