The Prisoner and the Writer, written by me, illustrated by Sophie Casson, and published by Groundwood Books, received the 2023 Canadian Jewish Literary Award for children and youth. Here is my acceptance speech, along with a lovely introduction by fellow children’s author Rona Arato.
Thank you to everyone involved in these important awards at this important time. The ceremony was held October 15, 2023, one week after the start of the Israel/Hamas war.
